Library subscribed ebooks are another option to use for course materials.
▼ More about using Library ebooks
The Library's ebooks include paid subscribed content and open access ebook repositories that cover a wide range of academic disciplines. Most library ebooks may be linked to using the permanent or persistent link features within the ebook's platform and/or a link to the item in the library's online catalog.
The Library subscribes to ebooks from a number of different ebook vendors, each with their own licensing restrictions and service models:
- Single user ebooks only allow one user to access an ebook at a the same time.
- Multi-user ebooks allow multiple simultaneous users - sometimes this is unlimited users and sometimes a limited number of concurrent users.
- Some ebooks allow PDF downloads & some do not.
Linking to contents from the Library's ebooks:
- Access to content in a library ebook requires an HCC log in.
- Only current student, staff or faculty have access to library ebooks.
- Use the persistent or permanent link of an ebook to link directly to it - this is not the same thing as the link in the browser's address bar.
- Ask a librarian for assistance or use the Linking to Library Resources guide.
